Welcome

Welcome Basket

As a way to welcome new residents to our town of Glencoe, a 'Welcome Basket' has been created full of information, resources, free gifts, and brochures from sponsoring local businesses. Representatives work together with realtors to contact new arrivals and present the basket within the first week or two of moving into Glencoe.

A special 'Thank You' to all of the local donors - Foodland, Heirloom Bake Shoppe, The King's Koffee Bar, Let It Brie, No Frills, and SWM Municipality,

If your business would like to be contribute something, please use the 'Contact' form below for consideration.

Our Town

During the mid 1800s, with the construction of the Great Western Railway between Toronto and Windsor, the hamlet of Dundonald was designated as a train stop. In 1854, when the first train stopped here, the hamlet contained two taverns, two blacksmith shops, a lumber merchant, a coppersmith, a shoemaker, a tailor, two grocers, and a population of 75 residents. The name of the hamlet changed to Glencoe in 1856 and the village of Glencoe was incorporated on December 5, 1873, with a population of 750 people and 75 businesses. Today, Glencoe has over 2500 residents, 200 businesses and is the thriving hub of Southwest Middlesex County.
